8 hr Outdoor Emergency First Aid

This course, accredited by Rescue Emergency Care, is essential first aid for activity leaders who work in the outdoor environment, whether that is a local park or a remote location. The course is designed specifically for those who lead young people in the outdoors on activities such as environmental games, bushcraft or outdoor sports, and will provide training in basic first aid, with the additional training required to ensure care and recovery in remote or outdoor situations.

Risk-Benefit Assessment Training

‘Providers should strike a balance between the risks and the benefits. This should be done on the basis of a risk assessment. Crucially this risk assessment should involve a risk-benefit trade off between safety and other goals, which should be spelt out in the provider’s policy’. The risk-benefit assessment form for the first time gives councils, schools and the voluntary sector an authoritative, practical document to help them weigh up risks and benefits.

This training course, led by a trainer highly skilled in the latest approved risk assessment methodologies, provides crucial training for employees in the use of risk-benefit assessments as endorsed by Health and Safety Executive. Participants will be trained to read, understand and to write effective risk-benefit assessments. The course is aimed at managers who need to have a complete understanding of risk-benefit assessment in order to ensure staff are able to apply best practice in this area. The course includes groupwork and realistic scenarios which vastly improve retention of learning.

4 hours of guided learning.

Safety Awareness Training

This course covers initial safety training including safety guideleines, risk assessment and procedures in the event of accidents when leading groups. This course covers the approved Scouts Ongoing Safety Training module in an interactive and practical course involving groupwork and practical scenarios which vastly improve retention of learning.

This course content can be adapted to fit to the SOPs and EOPs of any organisation.
